10Calc – a sleek, feature rich Windows Phone calculator

In that location is a host of calculator apps available in the Windows Telephone Store for those who need to become beyond the native estimator that is pre-installed on our phones. 10Calc is a fairly recent add-on to the calculator family unit and hopes that its sleek advent, fast performance and a library of calculator styles will entreatment to most.

Truth be told, equally long as a calculator can add, subtract, multiply and split up I'm a happy camper. But many will need a bit more horsepower out of their calculators and in the short time I accept spent exploring 10Calc, it comes across as a worthy Windows Phone app to consider.

10Calc's appearance is very clean with the type of calculator displayed in the upper left corner of the screen and your keypad consuming the bottom portion of the screen. The cadre interface for 10Calc is every bit as clean in that you slide to the left to reveal the app's menu and slide to the right to view your calculation history.

The bill of fare offers options to toggle between the various calculators, access the settings and view the Nigh screen. 10Calc'southward library of calculators includes:

  • Simple Calculator
  • Scientific Calculator
  • Programmer's Calculator
  • Unit Converter
  • Unorthodox Figurer: This includes a base converter, bill splitter, tip reckoner, engagement-time calculator and 24-hour interval on the Engagement Converter

Should anything other than the history become bachelor past swiping to the correct, 10Calc will alert you of the differences. For example, to fix the units of conversion, but swipe to the right to view the unit of measurement listings.

Settings are somewhat minimal and include:

  • Accuracy Level: Super Accurate, Scientific (8 places) and Student (5 places)
  • Font Size: Small, Normal and Big (simply affects the input display and not the buttons)
  • Theme: Default, Telephone Accent, White
  • Start-up Calculator: Choose which figurer will appear when the app launches
  • Pivot Live Tile (Transparent)

There is a Gilded and Silver Theme bachelor with the Premium version of 10Calc, which will run you $1.29 via in-app purchase. The Premium version will also remove the ad support.

10Calc does have copy support where you tin can tap on the calculated sum and copy information technology to your Windows Telephone clipboard. There is a bug with this characteristic in that when you are using the big font, you lot can highlight the effigy, but you cannot copy it.

I did like the viewable history, simply the copy characteristic doesn't extend to the history view. You lot tin can swipe betwixt the figurer view and history view without losing any of your work, but I think it could be useful to be able to copy from your history. If for anything, to help brand it easier to re-create sums from the history and import them into the active computer.

Overall Impression

The more I used 10Calc, the more the Windows Phone app grew on me. My calculator use is limited, but I can meet the entreatment 10Calc should have with those who need a beefier calculator. The interface is clean and optimized for one-handed use and the option of calculator styles is respectable.

All in all, if y'all are in the market for a Windows Telephone estimator that goes across the native app, 10Calc is worth trying. It is a complimentary, ad-supported app with the choice to remove the advert-support through a $1.29 in-app buy. 10Calc is currently rated at four Stars, which is about correct for this Windows Phone app. If you endeavour 10Calc, let us know what you think of things in the comments below.
